I guess today is a minor issue, but I'm going to ask the same question I ask every time Gawker's system has one of its weekly fits: in what kind of enterprising environment is this kind of regular and consistent failure acceptable?

Government.

Hence my qualification of "enterprising", although you could make the argument that many in government have made an enterprise out of being in government.

The kind of enterprising environment that is a subsidiary of a Cayman Islands-based corporation led by an eccentric millionaire?

I'm not following, so I'm going to need you to spell that one out for me.

I think this leads to an even better question:
Does the IT division constantly implement continuous updates, to the occasional disfunction of the site? Or is every piece of software or patch they implement just a ticking time-bomb?

Was just thinking about that after I saw Gawker's unique visitor data. I don't want to support those assholes, but I enjoy the assholes here and this is the only place to interact with the assholes here, so I'm stuck.
